Things I Love 2010.

Since I have missed the last few "Things I Love Thursday's" because I have been quite busy, I decided to write about the recent things I loved and my year's positive notes. I hope you all have had a wonderful year. Maybe your year has undergone some of the worst moments in your life, for that I apologize for the turmoil you have had to endure. I hope you can still look back at the year seeking out positive memories to remember. Whether that be good laughs with friends, new friends, exciting trips, or even surviving a tough situation and coming out stronger because of it. Use whatever reason you can to smile and rejoice about your year, cause life is too short to frown. =]

+Being finished with my first semester at Valencia Community College. [Which is actually being changed to Valencia College]
+Making all A's this semester.

+Thoroughly enjoying Christmas music
+Getting to see my family and friends after it being wayy too long since I had seen them last.
+I got a Wii for Christmas! Woot! =]]

+Finishing my take home test for Intro to Theatre and feeling confident that I did well. Though I am sad that class is over. =/

Things I Love Thursday

Well, it is Thursday again, which means there's a positive note I plan to gloat about.

+ Well first off, it was my Birthday this past weekend. I am officially twenty years old. Yay.
+ Our group in Intro to Stage Lighting did our lighting project on Monday, and I am pretty sure we nailed it. Plus we had a ton of fun creating our show.
+ Seeing Burlesque for my birthday. I absolutely loved the movie.
+ Getting my lighting test back that I thought I bombed and actually getting a 92 on! Yay! Unfortunately that is still a B, but I am perfectly thankful considering I thought I was going to fail.
+ Getting off the waitlist and into my Advanced Stage Lighting class for next semester. So Excited!!
+ My current lighting teacher showing a few of us the new fancy Grand AM2 Lighting Board we get to work with in Advanced Stage Lighting. Which is also the same console they use for the Amway building for the Magic Basketball Games. Plus we're the first class to have the opportunity to learn about this board.
+ My parents sending me a care package, and giving me stuff to plant an Aloe plant. Which I thought was quite hilarious considering I burned my hand pretty bad last week on a curling iron.
+ Speaking of curling irons, I used one without burning myself last Monday.
+ Getting some killer awesome hours at work before Christmas, even though I'm exhausted.
+ Having my credit card work again.
+ Seeing "She Stoops To Conquer" at the Mad Cow Theatre  in Downtown Orlando.
+ Hanging out with my friends on my birthday.
+ Red Velvet cake.
+ Buying Christmas Cards to mail out to family and such. I feel so adult. Haha.
+ Knowing my phone contract is up and I can get a new phone!
+ School is almost finished for the semester. I. Am. Excited!
+ The employee Christmas Party is next week! I'm excited!
+ One of the youth I used to help mentor posting a scripture I used to always tell her on facebook, and her writing that she hasn't forgotten me telling her. It warmed my heart, and really made me miss youth ministry.

Have a blessed week, thanks for reading my blog!

Let God Handle This.

Update:

I went to register for classes this past Friday.
Turns out that three out of the four classes I need this semester are full.
So I am on a waiting list.
"Sigh"
Though I just noticed an available spot for my makeup class. And I know there are three total on the waiting list for this class.
I am not sure if I am second or third. As long as the first person misses the 24 hour sign up, and if I'm third, then the second person misses it. Or maybe they both don't need it anymore..[that feels nicer to say.] Then I can secure that class. =]

Basically, I'm hoping for God to handle this stress. Cause It's a bit overwhelming. Ah.
Mostly though, I need to get into my Advanced Stage Lighting class. Cause it is only offered in the Spring. Which means if I don't take it now.. I can't take it until next year.
That thought scares me.

Good news: I looked at the class list for my CAD class, and I know a few people. Yay!

Another update..
I've got a concept design due tomorrow for Creative Design for Theatre.
Only thirty more pages left to read before I can start to conjure up some ideas.

Haha.

Prayers?

Thanks,
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Come on let your colors burst

Katy Perry's song Firework:

When I first heard this song I never though much of it. Then I saw the video for it.
Katy Perry is one of those artists who seems so real, and even though her music isn't always... pg, she has created some catchy tunes and songs with a geat meaning behind them. Firework is definitely one of my new favorite songs now.
She talks in an interview about this quote in a book called On The Road by Jack Kerouac,
"I want to be around people that are buzzing and fizzing and never say a commonplace thing and shoot across the sky and make everybody go ah'!"
What's so great about the song and video is that she addresses that it's important to be comfortable in your own skin, love you for you, and embrace all opportunities to be great. Surprise people with your personality, and let people see the "firework" within you.
Anyway, watch the video.. It's pretty lovely.
 Enjoy:

Let me know what you think?
Do you love her meaning behind it?

Let this song be an inspiration to Sparkle and Shine in every aspect of you life!
Have a great day!

Things I Love Thursday

This is where I write about the things I love from this week:

+Kitchen Nightmares.
I am so amused by cooking shows, especially ones involving Gordon Ramsey.
I am not sure if it's his adorable accent, his cooking skill, or the fact that he's in most of the good cooking shows, but I love watching him. If you did not know, I love to watch shows involving cooking, or baking. All of it, amuses me. If I wasn't so afraid of getting burned while cooking I'd probably pursue it as a career.
Haha.
+Finding a second Christian radio station. Which is especially nice since the other one is doing the fall fundraiser and therefor has more talking and less music.
+Wearing tights, I got a few pairs, black ones, grey ones, and navy blue ones. They're comfortable and I feel more appropriate when wearing them with shorts or a skirt. =]
+ Learning about lighting because of the paper I had to write about up and coming trends in my industry.
+ Doing an awesome job in my Stage Model for Creative Design for theatre.
+ Seeing my manager pray with a table last weekend.
+ My room spray, Pumpkin Spice. =]
+ LIPTON Purple Açai and Blueberry Green Tea Superfruit

Plans prevent stress

When I have something planned out, I stress less. I am not sure how you all work with planning, but I enjoy plans. This mostly goes for work or school scheduling. When I am with friends, I do not mind having things plan out randomly.
Anyway, back to plans.
I have been stressing about my school schedule because I missed the early resister dates. One of the courses I need next semester is already full. Ah! Writing that is stressing me out! Though I have a plan.
I moved to Orlando with purpose.
I moved here to better myself.
I moved here because I felt like God was leading me here.
I moved here to become independent.
I moved here to get a new beginning.
Though the reason I chose Orlando was because of school.
I want my career to be focused around Stage Lighting. I am currently in a Production design program at Valencia Community College. The funny thing about Valencia is although they have quite a few people in the Entertainment Design/Film/Theatre majors they have certain courses that are only offered Fall, only offered Spring, or only offered spring or fall, not summer. So what does this mean for me?
This means I must have a plan. I must know which courses I will take when before I ever get to resister for classes.
Thankfully, Valencia has this application within the Atlas email called an Education Plan. This lets me choose my major, and place each course for the major in the semester I plan to take it until I graduate.
I just altered my Education Plan because I had to make sure I was fitting in the Spring only, and fall only courses in the right semesters.
If all goes as planned... I will be registering for classes friday at noon. I will get on the wait list for Stagecraft for this spring, and since I know God has made it possible for me to succeed here, He will help me make it into the class. I will get into that class. I need to.
Granted, if I don't. I have a back-up plan. Though the back-up plan requires me to take more summer courses.
So once again, if all goes as planned...
I will have my Technical Certificate by the end of this upcoming summer. =] Yay!
Now what does this mean for me?
According to my lighting teacher, I can sign myself up for the union to get jobs in my industry already!
Saaweet!! Right! =]
We'll see how that goes
As continued, if all goes as planned.
I will finish my classes by the end of Spring 2012 for my AS desgree. I will then have my internship as the only requirement left for my degree. Woot!

I feel less stressed already.
Yay!

On a lighter note...

The lighting teacher for the Advanced Lighting Class I plan to take next semester designs the lighting for Northland Church.
Uhm, connections....please?
Northland Church Lighting:

Here's a link to more of his work. If you care to look more into it. George Jackson's Portfolio.

Things I Love Thursday

Last week was definitely one of the best weeks I have had in a long time.
The majority of the great week is given credit for my dear friend LeeAnne, and her wedding adventures.

So lets catch up on why it was such a great week...

The rehearsal dinner.
Serving Olive Garden.Yum!
Seeing old friends!

Going to City Walk at Universal Studios for the Baccalaureate Party.
Watching Karaoke.
Cinnabun.
Late nights.

Getting a mani-pedi. =]

Staying at the Hyatt Place in Lake Mary.
Getting a discount price cause I work for Hyatt.
Spending time with my brother, sister in law, and friend Johanna!
Huge tv! I mean.. HUGE!
Breakfast in the morning, yum.

LeeAnne and Kyle's Wedding.
Showing up bright and early for the hair appointment.
Thinking the hair place was the Barber shop, cause Hanna said it was next to Subway.. not a few shops down from Subway. Lol.
Loving my hair! Curly, pulled to the side, top portion french braided... little sparkle hair accessories in it. <3
Spending time with LeeAnne and the other girls.
Getting all dressed up.
Pictures.
The ceremony, went perfect, with a comedy bit from the flower girl.
Pictures, and more pictures.
Dancing with friends.
Making new friends. ;]
Partner dancing, with a guy who knows how to lead.
Hanging out with the groomsmen, some guests, and the bride and groom afterwards.
Ending up at Denny's after the first place.
Late nights. I'm a night owl, what can I say.

Feeling great about my test in lighting!
Nailing my Portfolio Presentation. I was definitely proud of my work. My love for lighting really showed through I believe.

Seeing Carousel tonight.
And LOVING it.
It was wonderful cause I heard a lot of bad reviews from fellow students, and heard about how people didn't understand the plot. I seemed to enjoy and follow along quite nicely. I'd definitely see it again! Valencia did a great job!
Plus I got to dress up, which make it more fun!

Now this photo to finish off with the things I love.
I know, it's seriously adorable. <3 it

Alrighty, Now I have to finish some homework.
With just a few minutes left of Thursday, I hope you have a wonderful Friday and rest of your week!

+Taylor introducing me to this site: dearblankpleaseblank.com
+Finally be accepted for a credit card, now I can build credit. Yay!
+My car batter dying at home, not at school or work. Getting it fixed only charged me $85!!! Great Deal! Plus it was like delivery car service since Orange County Towing came and fixed it.
+My model for my stage progressing. Plus the teacher extended the due date for the model. Yay!
+Looking around for a place to get a mani-pedi. Finding a coupon site that has one coupon per day. The day after signing up the coupon is for a mani-pedi nearby for $25. I made an appointment for Friday. I am excited! The coupon site is: groupon.com
+Having to do a surprise presentation in Lighting today. Feeling like I did pretty great!
+Best Friends.
+Being single. I love not being attached right now. And being completely content with this.
+Hanging out with coworkers!

+I Am Second
+This poor guy, look what Justin Bieber did to him! Lol Wrong guy.
+Dear Google, who's the cutest?
+[To make your own, go here: Let me Google that for you.]
+You can also google a number of other fun things, such as:

-answer to life, the universe and everything [press google search].
-google pacman [press I'm feeling lucky]. Yes, you can still play!

+Walking to the game and passing by a hot dog stand at a church. They were giving away free hot dogs. Granted I had already ate and I didn't get one, but the church I attended in Arcadia did this often. It warmed my heart to see the church be loving. Yay!

Attending church at Discovery is so nice because their worship music is so beautiful.
Speaking of beautiful, my favorite song this week [which is a song Discovery sang during worship on sunday night.] is called Beautiful Things, by Michael Gungor. Here it is:

Welcome October

October is here, as is Fall/Autumn. I am super excited! The weather is absolutely beautiful today! It's dry air, sunny and warm. Clear blue skies! It's a tid bit breezy. It's a Morgan Park day as I like to call it. Although Morgan Park is not in Orlando. So I am a bit sad. So it's a picnic/park day instead. I hope to sometime soon spend a day at one of the local parks. I am actually beginning to find a few. I also found a bike trail! It would be nicer if I had my bike with me, but eh. It could be a jogging trail for me. Anyway, I hope you're enjoying this beautiful weather as much as I am. Just wanted to share my excitement.

Things I Love Thursday

It's Thursday, which means it is time for me to rant about the great things from this week. [Pretending my week runs from Friday-Thursday. haha]

+Finishing and turning in an amazing portfolio for my lighting class. I seriously love learning things in that class. I even felt pretty confident about the exam this past week. Yay!

+Receiving a 55 out of 60 for my 90day evaluation for work. I am officially officially hired!

+Great parking spots.

+Being able to watch the sunrise while working. Win.

+Getting through my overload of homework this week.

+Encouragement from other students.

+Being told I have pretty eyes. Randomly by a student in my theatre class.

+Cardio. Specifically on the elliptical.

+Someone turning in my phone to security at work because I left it in the locker room. Thank Heavens.

+Feeling ok about not having my phone for a day. I don't feel lost without an electronic.

+The show Outsourced. Hilarious!

+And last, but not least... this photo:

Things I Love Thursday

Things I Love Thursday

+No makeup this week.
+Having fun learning.
+Kicking butt on my art projects for Creative Design for Theatre.
+Being more comfortable with presenting cause every assignment for Creative Design for Theatre includes presenting it to the class.
+Not being afraid of heights anymore.
+Dinner with roommates.
+Homemade Pie.
+Skype, and using it to see/talk to people whom you miss. Technology these days is mind boggeling.
+Meeting new people at school because someone in one of your classes introduces you to their friends.
+This weather, again.
+Not having my Intro to Theatre class yesterday cause my teacher decided to give us a day off. Even though he took it off for selfish reasons, it is still a nice feature that college has.
+Glee is back! Yay!
+Monday our teacher was late. One of the students sat at the piano in class and played for about ten minutes. It was beautiful. If you play piano, you can definitely be my friend. Haha.
+Brittany, and her amazing blog.
+One more day till payday!
+Anticipating friendships.
+Nicole, I miss that girl.
+We Heart It!  Ok, so one of my best friends told me about this site! It's absolutely wonderful! It's like flickr or photobucket. Although much cuter, and less junk pictures. All the pictures are pretty much high quality photography style photos. When you see a photo you like you "Heart" it. You can even add a link on your browser bar where you can click on it to add images that you love from other sites. It's the perfect site for my research for lighting photos too. Love.
+Clean sheets. They feel so good.

Alrighty, that's it for now. It was short and simple today. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday. I will be heading to bed now, and working from eleven am to eleven pm later. Woot! >_<
I have a job, and they're giving me hours, which means I get to be thankful and happy!
Stay Positive!

Unconcealed Face

[if you're a male, this post isn't for you.]

 wake up.
make up.
cover your face up.
conceal the true you
your choice
your new appearance
you're a walking canvas
don't forget it.

Pick up any modern magazine aimed at females.
The majority of it is articles based on appearance, and they sure don't want you to forget it!
Exercise and eating. Alright, you want to be healthy, great!
Clothes, please wear them.
Makeup...Not quite the necessity.
For me, I have never been much of a full out makeup wearer. I like mascara, and eye shadow, sometimes eyeliner. Though recently I've been wearing it more often, cover up, blush or bronzer, mascare, eyeliner, multiple eye shadows...  I feel like I've forgotten that I have a real face behind it all. So I'm going to be fasting make up for this week.
I challenge you girls.. Instead of finding the best lip gloss, or mascara. Find a good make up remover. Something that wipes away the residue from eye liner and mascara easily. Wear your face proudly. God made you beautiful as you are. God didn't put make up on Eve. I mean, she really didn't even have clothes.
Please only refer to that sense of style in the shower though! Haha. The makeup is nice every once in awhile, but don't use it to hide the true you. The world seems to think that makeup is a need, they want you to depend on it. Don't be dependent on something that conceals the true you.

See your beauty as the makeup runs off your face.

And as some musical inspiration for the week: Beautiful - Group 1 Crew

Things I Love Thursday

TILT is a weekly blog about the things in my week that I love, usually something that made me laugh or smile.

+So this week I was able to have fun with the Batter Blaster pancake mix I bought. Last friday I made myself a homemade brown sugar syrup sauce. Then I sliced apples and threw them into a pan. I then added the brown sugar sauce and let the syrup soak into the apples. Once those were nice and warm I set them aside to work on the pancakes. I then put some of the apples and sauce on top of the pancake batter, then put more batter on top. Once the pancakes were finished cooking I poured the extra apples and brown sugar sauce onto the pancakes. Oh my, they were some amazing pancakes!
+Then, yesterday I made blueberry pancakes. While those were in the pan, I took some blackberries, raspberries and brown sugar and put them in a container to heat up in the microwave. I then mashed the berries up and used it for the syrup on the blueberry pancakes! Nom, nom, nom!

+Homemade mac and cheese, using plain yogurt, not vanilla. Yes, I did make that one time mistake. Haha.

+This past weekend my internet stopped working. Apparently the router wasn't working, but our modem was fine. So I had to go out and purchase a new router. I was dreading this because I figured the set up was going to be a pain! Though to my surprise and excitement, it was probably the simplest, technology related, thing I have ever set up! Literally all I had to do was plug it in. Yay!
Then I got to play with it and set up a fun name.
+Also fun: The generic name given for the Internet was "LoudFlamingo," LOL. Who thinks of these?
I decided to rename it, "ClickThisOne!" I figured if a guest comes over and needs to use the internet that it would make things simpler. Haha. So what do you think? Do you like it, or did you like the Loud Flamingo one better?

+Watching Mystery Guitar Man, a semi famous youtuber, propose to his girlfriend in a pretty epic way! I hope my future husband puts at least a third of this much effort in the proposal for me!

+Uhm, The weather the last few days! No humidity! Thank you God!

+Using Aloe Vera as my hair gel. Getting the same results as if scrunching my hair with hair gel. Minus the crunchy/sticky feeling. Win.

+Working the AM shift at work last Sunday. I was able to attend Discovery church that night instead of watching the podcast of it mid-week. [Not that I don't LOVE that I can download the podcast for free if I miss a service!!] Though worship is not included in the podcast. Plus there's nothing like a live worship band. Yay!

+Last Sunday a fellow coworker explained football to me. It's a great feeling to gain knowledge, even if it is something as simple as football!

+Airport Crap - The Oatmeal. < I find this hilarious because these are the customers I have at work!
+This is how I feel about buying apps - The Oatmeal.  The cat gets one? This has got to be Scout in this comic!

+Receiving snail mail. A letter that is five pages [front and back] long! There's nothing better then getting a letter in the mail, especially one hand written! And especially one from a childhood friend whom you have not spoken to, communicated a real conversation with, or seen in years! [When I moved from Cali we decided to keep up writing to each other as a way to communicate. For the last few years I've been lacking on the sending mail back part. Finally I was able to find time to write here in Orlando. Yay! I love that we're writing again!]

+My roommates.
Although the internet was out for a few days, it gave us the opportunity to mingle more since only one of us was able to use the internet in the living room at a time. We ended up just studying together a few times. It's nice. =]

+My lighting class. I was able to actually "practice" hanging lights today. Climbing a fifteen foot [maybe twenty, I forget...] ladder and using my new wrench to correctly and safely secure the light. Haha. Which kind of made me laugh cause it really should not have been considered "practice" for me. Though it was nice to be back into it! I haven't dealt with lighting since I moved to Orlando.

Ok, I kind of feel like I rambled a tiny bit.
[Ok, maybe kind of a lot.] I still hope you enjoyed it!
I am extremely thankful for you reading my blog, assuming you made it this far through the rambles.
Have a wonderful Thursday! Remember to stay positive friends!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

I will

I will have a great day!
I will enjoy my classes!
I will smile throughout my day!
I will turn in my work on time!
I will make it to class on time!
I will arrive at work on time!
I will work hard in school!
I will work hard at work!
I will be friendly to everyone!
I will look on the bright side of things!
I will be responsible with spending!
I will...

stay positive.

Have you ever had one to those days that you felt like being negative. Have you been in those days and wished you could be positive? It happens to everyone. How you handle it is where it changes.
Where is your focus? Are you looking for things to go wrong, or looking for things you don't like?
Simply saying you will be positive is a first step. So next time someone says, "Have a great day!"
Respond with, "I will!" Self fulfilling prophecy goes a long way, and how you view the outcome of your day will affect your attitude.

Alrighty, have a blessed day!

Things I Love Thursday

Thursday has arrived, yay!
For those of you who are unaware of what TILT [Things I Love Thursday] is... It's a list of things I love that have happened this week, or maybe it's something interesting I found that I want to share with you. Focusing on the good things in life a great way to stay positive.

+Hearing new songs on the radio from your favorite music artist.
+Granola. It goes to well with cereal, yogurt, and ice cream/frozen yogurt. Plus it makes a nice snack by itself.
+Having Labor Day off and getting to catch up on much needed sleep.
+Finally trying out Batter Blaster Pancakes! It's even USDA approved Organic!
+Adding Nesquik to cereal because I am a chocoholic. Yum! [Goes amazing with Honey Bunches of Oats!]
+This new acne wash I've been using from clean and clear. Deep-action Exfoliating-scrub. It literally feels like there is ice covering your skin while you wash your face. I feel like it is actually cleaning my skin. I love it.
+Mango Bars! [Made like lemon bars, but with Mango!] So delicious!
+Going to a work meeting. Though the "meeting" was more like a pep rally. I almost felt like I was back in high school. Then I remembered I rarley sat with my class during pep rallies cause I was with the band. Haha. [Does that make me kind of a nerd? I mean, I was actually there for Color Guard, not playing an instrument, except freshman year. I played Clarinet.]
+My fellow employees, including managers. They all pretty much rock. <3Hyatt.
+Reading the book for my lighting class and understanding the terms in it. Going to class and hearing that a lot of people did not read with the same ease. [It's not that I love them not understanding it. It's just that I love that I did!]
+Knowing my schedule is balanced. I have enough time for school, homework, and work. Keeping up to date on my youtube, hulu, and blog subscriptions, plus the Discovery Church Podcast's for the Status services I've missed cause of work. Not to mention keeping my home clean, and getting enough sleep/relax time. I love balance.
+My birthday is less than three months away!

Alrighty friends... Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you have a fantabulous fabtastic week! haha
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

YouTube Tuesday

If you know anything about me, you will know that I am fascinated with YouTube. I subscribe to about thirty-three channels, and I am always looking for more. I like appropriate, creative, hilarious, blog-style, music incorporated, or stop motion videos. YouTube Tuesday is my idea, and I will post at least one Tuesday in a month. Whether I post more all depends on if I find videos worthy of showing. I will post between one and three videos per blog, that was you're not overwhelmed with twenty videos. [Even though they could all be great.]

Today I will be showing two. These two are two different channels I just started to subscribed to.

First,
OmgFactsOfficial

or link

Second,
MEEKAKITT

or link

Alrighty, well the first one I really enjoyed because omgfacts is a fan of mine on twitter already. So when I found out they have a YouTube channel with people making facts more interesting through a video I got pretty excited.
The second one I really love because she's so right! I know so many people who stopped liking things because they became popular. I can understand things getting played out, but to count them out of your favorites because you are now not the only one who knows about them is silly.
So what do you think? Do you agree?
Also, did you like these videos and this blog idea?

Thanks for reading my blog,
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

I want to put a fun extra little tidbit here, although I think this picture is enough said. So, when you're feeling down, remember to hold onto hope.

Things I Love Thursday

This week has been absolutely amazing! I am not even sure I have anything negative I could think of writing about. Which is absolutely fantastic, cause this is an optimistic blog!

+First off. Apple has done it again. They created a iPod touch that is smaller; they created a social network through iTunes; and my most favorite, the new touch iPod Nano! 2010 Nano. This makes me happy most of all because currently I have the video Nano. I love my video Nano cause of the small size, although I need one with more space since mine does not have enough room for my music. So this new Nano is fun cause it's touch screen, plus it's tiny! Yay! One day after getting caught up on bills I may purchase one. Maybe.

+School. All of it. I Love it.
+Creative Design for Theater. This class will mostly be art projects that will help us with our skills on designing a theater set. This class will help me expand my knowledge on stage set up, costumes, and some lighting.
+Introduction to Stage Lighting. I will have the opportunity to help design and set up lighting for the Musical Carousal, Valencia's Fall semester theater production. Yay!! I also get four complementary tickets for this play, and I have to attend it for a grade. Talk about awesome homework. Haha.
+Introduction to Theater. I definitely have one of my already favorite teachers at Valencia. I feel like I am going to be learning a lot in this class, and I will enjoy the learning. Bonus!

+Last weekend I made a trip to Arcadia. I was able to spend some time with my mother and father, which was lovely cause I missed them a ton. [Shh...lol] I got to hang out with Nicole and Taylor! Plus I got to see my best friend Brittany!! Among the other people, like my old work and locals I ran into, I really enjoyed my few days within Arcadia. Not to mention remembering what it feels like to sit at a 4-way traffic light and be the only one there. Ha.

+Meeting new people at school!

+LOL. This is wrong is so many ways, though I cannot stop laughing when I see it. English Only Driver License Exams. To further your laughter, watch this after: Cover of Tim James Ad.
More Laughter? Makes Sense to me? Oh boy, does this just get better! Safer Than Safe.

+Wearing new school clothes.
+My roommate had an extra mattress, she's letting me use it until I go out and buy the bed I had been planning to purchase for some time now. For now my back will be much appreciative of this bed. Yay.
+Haircut! No more dead ends! Not to mention being HAPPY about my haircut again!
+Having my alarm clock back.
+Knowing you're in the right place.
+Smiling.
+Laughing.
+Converse shoes=Comfy. I was also able to use the bottom of it for a stencil when painting. Which also looked kind of like a Chinese symbol. Haha

Alrighty, I have already drank my chamomile tea so I am going to go read a bit of Dr. Faustus, one of my play books for my Creative Design for Theater class. Then I will fall asleep and sleep in as much as I can tomorrow. I am so excited! I hope you all have a fantastic Thursday, and a wonderful weekend! It's Labor Day weekend, which means an extended weekend. Woot! It's almost here! Thanks again for reading my blog. Seriously, I know lately I've been quite boring with only TILT. Though if I wasn't posting these, there would be nothing. Haha.
Love you all,

Things I Love Thursday

"No matter what kind of week you have, there's always an optimistic side." -me
This is why I love doing TILT.

God, and Him being strong in my weak moments.
Seeing old friends.
Winning laundry detergent.
Free stuff at Target.
Getting my vehicle fixed.
Having a blast with the employee's at work.
Sleeping in.
Money showing up in my account when I need a few extra bucks, thanks God.
Feeling good about myself cause I turned in a lost credit card. Then receiving a thank you call and an offer for
Starbucks in appreciation.
Chocolate Covered Strawberries!
The fact that I'll be able to spend the weekend back home seeing the people I love the most.
School is starting this Monday! Boy am I excited!

Alrighty, well I am off to bed now. Tomorrow I work the am shift, and it's off to Arcadia! Yay!
Thank You for reading my blog! Until next time!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday/Friday

I am late getting home tonight, so even though it is still my Thursday night, it is officially Friday. Oh well, here are the things I loved about my week!
*First off, I feel like this week has dragged on so slow. This could be because I am wishing for time to fly so I can start school, or cause I have been working the pm shifts at work and the business has been throughely slow. Either way, I'm thankful it's Thursday! Why? Cause this Thursday is my Friday! I have Friday and Saturday off work. I am completely thrilled! I have not had a Saturday off since I started working here. Yay!
This upcoming Saturday will also be the two month mark of working at the Hyatt. Yay!
*For those of you who know me pretty well you know I am a fan of Julian Smith on youtube. He often talks about or features his cat, Scout in videos. This week "Scout" created a Twitter account.

*Getting recognition from a manager on what quality of customer service? Smiling at every guest, of course. I would. Haha.
*Getting to hang out with coworkers at the beach on my day off.
*Pami is moving back to Orlando. Tomorrow!Today!
*Laughing, and how great it feels to be able to laugh with people, whether they are your friends or not!

*Getting to know my roommate more, and loving to see how God really worked out a great situation for me in Orlando.
*The Kit to my Kat is back in Orlando too!
*Knowing you are safe not because of cops or security, but because of God.
*Sleep! Speaking of, I am off to bed now.

Thanks for reading my blog. I apologize that the majority of my blog postings have been TILT. I hope to gather some blog ideas I have and create them for mid-week postings.
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Ello Friends,

It is Thursday again!
Lets get this started...

Ballerina Project.
If you know anything about me, you will understand why I love this!
If you don't know anything about me, well... now you do. Dance is important to me, I love every aspect of the art, and the fact that a city has a project featuring dance within the city is just, well beautiful to say the least.

A coworker and I were discussing religion and such, and he made the joke that he is apart of Jews for Jesus. I know, it is silly. Though this made my laugh for probably five minutes straight. I love good jokes.

Although I have yet to actually use this feature in Orlando, I love that I know it is available if I need it.
Grub Taxi. Grub Taxi is a place you go online or call to have food delivered from restaurants that do not have delivery. Talk about a genius idea! No more delivery options of just pizza and Chinese!

A white dress. Today I found a very beautiful white dress at khols for very inexpensive. I have been wanting a casual yet somewhat dressy white dress for some time now. I am super excited, though I am not sure where I will wear this dress. Possibly school?

Speaking of school!!! Today I got my student ID and my books. One book in particular: Stage Lighting! School is just seventeen days away! Woot!

Facial's. Today I got to hang out with one of my new Orlando friends, yay! Something she is very talented in is giving facials. She took a course during high school that taught her all she needed to know, so tonight I received my first facial. It was great!

Nutella Crapes. Tonight me and my new Orlando friend went to IHOP for dinner. I got crapes, which came as an option to have nutella with them! Yum! For those of you who know nothing about Nutella, here.

Snickers. Many times candy companies put codes on the inside of the wrapper's in order to win cool prizes or enter contests. Though Snickers is changing it up a bit. I am so proud of what they're doing! There's a code on the inside of the wrapper that you can either enter online, or text the code to the number given. Instead of you winning something, you're donating a meal to someone in need through "Feeding America." How awesome is that! Go Snickers!

Uhm... Tomorrow I am trying out a florida east coast beach. I am extremely excited to get some sun! Not only cause I get to hang out with a fun coworked, but also to even out the tan on my right arm, plus get rid of my watch tan mark on my left wrist. Haha.

Alrighty, well good night everyone. Have a pleasant and blessed Friday/weekend.
Till next time...
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

With Him

I won't go into too much detail about what this is portraying since it is pretty obvious.
However, I will ask you a question, "When you pray with Jesus/God do you give him the time to respond?"
When I think about praying, I think about how I'm praying with Him, not just to Him. This video is a great example of someone praying to Jesus/God. When you're talking to someone you're not really expecting a response. So next time you pray, talk with God, and expect His response.

Thanks for reading my blog,

Things I Love Thursday

Or TILT as I like to refer it to. I know, It's actually actually Friday right now. Though I worked a double shift today at work and was unable to make it home in time to write this blog on time. My apologies.

Alrighty, my first thing is something that I have been forgetting to write about on TILT for weeks! I recently found out about a new feature to Disney. I have never been so excited for something Disney related.
I will give you a link, please watch it. Disney World of Color. This new feature is added to Disney Land in California. It's a show with water fountains, music, video projections of Disney clips, and.... *drum rolll please* LIGHTS!!! Ahhhh!!! You have no idea how bad I would not only LOVE to go see this show, but also one day work with it. Talk about an epic job. Just sayin'.

I start school in three and a half weeks, and I looked up my book prices online and found out they're super inexpensive. Which is kind of nice since I'm used to paying about one hundred dollars per book, now my most expensive book was $49, and my least expensive one was $6. Woot!

Speaking of school. Valencia is hosting a poetry/writing/art/photography contest. I entered a photo, and I plan on entering a poem. Although I have been having a tough time figuring out which poem to enter, even though I can enter multiple, I believe that if my writings are good I only need one to win. Maybe anyway.

At work we server desserts on a dessert cart. Some of them are in mason jars. A carrot cake in a mini mason jar, and a lemon meringue pie in a mason jar. I though that was quite creative of them, and wanted to share. I would love to take that idea if I ever hosted a party and felt like making fancy stuff for it. So if you'd like to take that idea too, you can. Here's a sample photo of what I'm referring to: Mason Jar Dessert. You can also use other things like wine or cocktail drink glasses with the same idea.

The weather this week has been much more bearable outside. Actually, it has been quite lovely, almost enough to make me want to take a walk around the neighborhood. Well, if I felt completely safe by myself of course, hypothetically. haha.

Sun Pass, and being able to easily drive through a toll area without having to wait in a terribly long line. Also, finding out that the tolls roads make my trip from work only twenty minutes, max. Rather than forty minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

Working a ton, cause I need the hours. Yay!

Wednesday was the Orlando International Airport Hyatt's 18th Birthday! It was wonderful cause they were serving New York Strip Steak in the cafeteria. It made my week!

Hearing a song and being inspired to write a blog. You can look forward to that one, it will have something to do with Beauty.

Monday I made homemade macaroni and cheese. It was pretty great. Though I do have to mention that the recipe called for plain yogurt, and I only had vanilla. Note to self: never substitute this ever again. Haha.

Olive Garden's soup, salad, and bread stick lunch deal. So smart, and so yummy!

There's this frozen yogurt place I tried this last Monday called iKiwi, located in the UCF area. It's like a frozen yogurt buffet. You get your own frozen yogurt, add as much or as little toppings as you would like, then they weigh it to see how much it cost. If you're ever in the area, try iKiwi!

Friends. Old Friends, Best Friends, New Friends, Work Friends. I love them all.

Alright, I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend in general.
Thank you for reading my blog. I appreciate it tons and tons!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Ramble

It's less than an hour till Thursday, and it has come all too quickly this week.
A long time ago, when I got my first job. Junior Year, 2007. I was telling a friend about my new job and he said congratulations. Though he also mentioned that time flies when you have a job. I've remembered this ever since he told me. Why? Possibly because it's very true. When you get a job you find out your schedule, you count down the days until pay day, and you try to squeeze your social schedule within the free time you're given. I honestly feel like my life has just absolutely flown by since I started working. When I was in High School I was perfectly okay with that because I was not much of a fan of my school. Though now life has flown by still and even though I am only nineteen and a lot of people I know are older than me, I feel old. haha.

Anyway, on other terms. God is working thoroughly through me. I've been able to rely on Him more than ever, especially since I do not have as much of a social life since moving to Orlando. This I believe is a good thing for me, it has been sort of a sabbatical for me. Which, if you knew me prior to Orlando, you know I am a pretty hard core busy bee. I know pursuing Production Design is the major part of God's plan for my life. Though trying to figure out His plans for me other than school have been quite confusing. I know each friend I've had has always been there for a reason, whether they're apart of my life for a season, or they're one of my friends forever. I suppose you could say I have been over analyzing different situations I have encountered here because I am on my own and it is up to me and only me to figure out the plans for my life that God has for me. It is quite exciting, though also scary, thinking about the experiences I will be enduring now that I am independent. And exciting to see what more God has planned for me, cause the majority of things here have been absolutely wonderful. I am thankful for all God has blessed me with. =]

Thanks for reading my blog, check out tomorrow for TILT!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Ello friends,
Well lets get right to it..

Rhett and Link on youtube.com just did a small series to get their viewers to help them create an original shoe. I was weary about how it would turn out considering a lot of the things people were suggesting seemed unrealistic. For example, in there first video they were wearing bacon flip-flops. [Ugh. Bacon is good, but not after being on your feet!] Anyway, I'm actually impressed with the shoe they came up with. It even has a pocket for a guitar pic.[not that I play, but I know tons of people who do!] So here is the video to tell you more about the shoe: Mythical Shoe.

I saw two movies this past week. Despicable Me, which was a very cute and very funny movie. I loved each character's personality and the humor they brought with it. I also saw it in 3D, which was kinda nice, cept that I was getting sick of wearing the glasses and if you took them off the movie was blurry.
I also saw Inception. Might I say, that was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It really had you thinking through the entire movie, not to mention having you wish you could create such a world through a dream. I was very happy with Ellen Page's acting too! So many people know her as "Juno," it seems hard to separate her character, but she did a really good job in this movie.

I got this "Infinity" by Conair. It's a straightener/curling iron. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of curling your hair with a straightener, but one of my best friends showed me how to. It's amazing, I love doing my hair like that. Although my straightener isn't the best for it, it needs to be one that heats up a lot on the outside. So I saw this product at Walmart and decided to try it. It worked quite well, and I wore my hair curly yesterday. It's a bit tricky to get used to, but it's a nice little invention from Conair.

Alright, well this blog is going to be short, I've got to finish getting ready for work. Till next time, and thanks for reading my blog.
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Welcome back to my blog.
Despite how similar my last post was with "Things I Love Thursday" I still want to write this Thursday's blog.

Frozen Blueberries! I love adding them to my cereal! Not just for the yummy taste, but it keeps the milk nice and cold, which is nice when I get to the end with the last bit of milk. They also go great in ice cream, and are a great ingredient for smoothies!

Speaking of smoothies! Since I have bought frozen fruits [mango, strawberries, and blueberries] and yogurt, I have been able to make some oh so delicious real fruit smoothies! Yum!

Someone I work with brought in this book, called Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith. It's almost like a journal, but for artsy creative stuff. If you look through the pictures, you will see exactly what I mean.

Are you looking for something fun to do? Where Traveler can help you out!

Wednesday at work, one of my employee's let me try this candy that I have never had before. They're called "Razzles". When you eat them, they're first the similar texture of a bottle cap candy. Then if you chew the candy, it turns into gum! I cannot believe I had not ever heard of this candy before now! It wasn't the best tasting candy[not that they're bad...just not the BEST!], but it was amusing. It messed with my whole logic of candy texture! haha

Light Up The Sky - The Afters

Quest Crew.

My parents are sending me a care package. This makes me smile.

Meeting people at work who lived near or know well of the town I grew up in.

Exercise, and feeling healthy because of it.

God's abundance of blessings and Him always working out things for me because He loves me.

STATUS Finding out that Discovery Church has a college age group on Sunday evenings. So Happy!

Subway's new Turkey Bacon and  Avocado Sandwich.  =O [I know! It's exciting!]
So Yummmy!

Chic-Fil-A's Peach Milkshake. It's creamy and fruity! Plus you feel like it's healthier than a chocolate milkshake, even though I doubt it is! haha

I have this upcoming Sunday off of work. I am excited, because Sunday is the only day I'm completely ok with having off, since I can attend church. =]

This song: Walking on the Stars - Group 1 Crew.

[mytemporaryroommatesaremovingout.whichmeansIdon'thavetosmelltheleftoverIndiafoodsheleavesoutanymore,andthekitchenwillbecleanagain.AmIallowedtobethrilled?]

Alright.
I'm off to bed now, and hopefully will be sleeping in for a long time. [So excited for sleep!]
For those of you who have a normal sleep schedule... Have a wonderful Thursday! And weekend!
Thanks for reading my blog!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

25 Things [from facebook]

Alright, I was tagged on facebook for this:
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

Though I don't care for facebook notes.. So I'm writing it here, and maybe I'll paste it in a note on facebook. Maybe. xP

One. I much prefer written out numbers.

Two. The light switch for my room is outside of my room, in my living room to be exact. If I am extremely exhausted I will twist the bulb to turn the light off rather than get up, open my door, and walk out to turn my light off.

Three. I do believe that you can never have too many undershirts. Which is why I bough nine today.

Four. I like to match, even when I'm in pajamas and no one will see me.

Five. There's still a few boxes packed from when I moved in. My books are still packed cause I do not have a book shelf, and I probably don't even have room for one. I also have not hung any of my wall hangings or pictures, so they are stuck in a box for now.

Six. If you know me, it's no secret what my favorite animal is. Though I have a second favorite[which I love almost as much] that few, if any know about.

Seven. I feel like this is a lot like my "Things I Love Thursday" blog. TILT.

Eight. I still use the same email I first started with, [even though it's kinda lame.] and the same aim sn I first made.

Nine. Mango's and chocolate go together. Try it.

Ten. I am not much of a shower singer, but I am definitely a car singer.

Eleven. My mom owns an online educational nature and science related toy store. JALTS

Twelve. In August I start school at Valencia Community College. This is my teacher for Into to Stage Lighting. Sonia Pasqual. You. Have. No. Idea. How. Excited. I. Am. For. Her. Class!

Thirteen. Port Blue = LOVE.

Fourteen. I want a Ford Fiesta! Commercial!

Fifteen. Meebo.com is a much better way to IM.

Sixteen. This is taking too long.

Seventeen. Brownies in ice cream is genius. Just saying.

Eighteen. I don't care much for my middle name. Don't know it, I guarantee you can guess it within three tries. It's quite common.

Nineteen. I am currently nineteen!

Twenty. I write a blog. [-_-]
[I'm writing this because I'm going to paste this on facebook.]

Twenty-One. Why twenty-five?

Twenty-Two. I enjoy shopping. A lot.

Twenty-Three. Thunderstorms rock.

Twenty-Four. I am usually over prepared.

Twenty-Five. I like trying new recipes!

Ahhh! Yay! Done! Alright.. I am tagging...... no one! Since this is my blog, not facebook. xP

Bye!!!
