Things I Love Thursday

Hey! It's Thursday! Which means I get to talk about the positive things from my week. For those of you reading who haven't been around since I started doing TILT, I'd like to tell about my inspiration. First off, the person I stole the idea from is quite the interesting one, but I have never personally met her. She is actually the wife of one of my most favorite famous youtuber's, Julian Smith. Her name is Sarah Smith, and her blog is called theoneinpink. If you enjoy reading positive inspirational insightful blogs, I would suggest subscribing to her.
Anyways...

This freezing cold weather! As uncomfortable it is being too cold sometimes, there's nothing like a cup of hot tea, or hot chocolate, a warm blanket and the quietness of your room to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Plus, it beats sweating. Any day.

Starting school!
Alrighty, I did already miss the first day of my government class from over sleeping. Though I made it on time, actually early, today and I quiet enjoyed the class. I know, this doesn't sound right if you know me at all. Anything history related is gross to me, but I like how my teacher taught, I actually felt like I was understanding. That I appreciate from teachers.

My Advanced Stage Lighting class. Wow. I am stoked for this class! Seriously the board we are using for lights is the TOP board in the WORLD. Used by Disney, the Amway center, American Idol, huge concert artists. And I get to learn how to program it?? This is going to be exciting!

Makeup for the stage.
Oh boy, oh boy! I am going to have fun in this class. Learning how to make people look old, animal faces, gender switch, ect...

Being able to see my friends from school is kinda nice also, I missed them!

Getting enough hours at work. =]

Getting my score for my evaluation, and finding out I made "Distinguished." Which basically means I'm pretty good at my job, and because of it, I get an extra raise! Woot! =]

Not getting sick. =]

This Episode of StayTards:

There's nothing like finding out your favorite well know.. famous ish people Love God. =]

Alrighty, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Love you all,

Attending church at Discovery is so nice because their worship music is so beautiful.
Speaking of beautiful, my favorite song this week [which is a song Discovery sang during worship on sunday night.] is called Beautiful Things, by Michael Gungor. Here it is:

Alrighty, thanks so much for reading my blog.

Things I Love Thursday

Or TILT as I like to refer it to. I know, It's actually actually Friday right now. Though I worked a double shift today at work and was unable to make it home in time to write this blog on time. My apologies.

Alrighty, my first thing is something that I have been forgetting to write about on TILT for weeks! I recently found out about a new feature to Disney. I have never been so excited for something Disney related.
I will give you a link, please watch it. Disney World of Color. This new feature is added to Disney Land in California. It's a show with water fountains, music, video projections of Disney clips, and.... *drum rolll please* LIGHTS!!! Ahhhh!!! You have no idea how bad I would not only LOVE to go see this show, but also one day work with it. Talk about an epic job. Just sayin'.

I start school in three and a half weeks, and I looked up my book prices online and found out they're super inexpensive. Which is kind of nice since I'm used to paying about one hundred dollars per book, now my most expensive book was $49, and my least expensive one was $6. Woot!

Speaking of school. Valencia is hosting a poetry/writing/art/photography contest. I entered a photo, and I plan on entering a poem. Although I have been having a tough time figuring out which poem to enter, even though I can enter multiple, I believe that if my writings are good I only need one to win. Maybe anyway.

At work we server desserts on a dessert cart. Some of them are in mason jars. A carrot cake in a mini mason jar, and a lemon meringue pie in a mason jar. I though that was quite creative of them, and wanted to share. I would love to take that idea if I ever hosted a party and felt like making fancy stuff for it. So if you'd like to take that idea too, you can. Here's a sample photo of what I'm referring to: Mason Jar Dessert. You can also use other things like wine or cocktail drink glasses with the same idea.

The weather this week has been much more bearable outside. Actually, it has been quite lovely, almost enough to make me want to take a walk around the neighborhood. Well, if I felt completely safe by myself of course, hypothetically. haha.

Sun Pass, and being able to easily drive through a toll area without having to wait in a terribly long line. Also, finding out that the tolls roads make my trip from work only twenty minutes, max. Rather than forty minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

Working a ton, cause I need the hours. Yay!

Wednesday was the Orlando International Airport Hyatt's 18th Birthday! It was wonderful cause they were serving New York Strip Steak in the cafeteria. It made my week!

Hearing a song and being inspired to write a blog. You can look forward to that one, it will have something to do with Beauty.

Monday I made homemade macaroni and cheese. It was pretty great. Though I do have to mention that the recipe called for plain yogurt, and I only had vanilla. Note to self: never substitute this ever again. Haha.

Olive Garden's soup, salad, and bread stick lunch deal. So smart, and so yummy!

There's this frozen yogurt place I tried this last Monday called iKiwi, located in the UCF area. It's like a frozen yogurt buffet. You get your own frozen yogurt, add as much or as little toppings as you would like, then they weigh it to see how much it cost. If you're ever in the area, try iKiwi!

Friends. Old Friends, Best Friends, New Friends, Work Friends. I love them all.

Alright, I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend in general.
Thank you for reading my blog. I appreciate it tons and tons!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Ramble

It's less than an hour till Thursday, and it has come all too quickly this week.
A long time ago, when I got my first job. Junior Year, 2007. I was telling a friend about my new job and he said congratulations. Though he also mentioned that time flies when you have a job. I've remembered this ever since he told me. Why? Possibly because it's very true. When you get a job you find out your schedule, you count down the days until pay day, and you try to squeeze your social schedule within the free time you're given. I honestly feel like my life has just absolutely flown by since I started working. When I was in High School I was perfectly okay with that because I was not much of a fan of my school. Though now life has flown by still and even though I am only nineteen and a lot of people I know are older than me, I feel old. haha.

Anyway, on other terms. God is working thoroughly through me. I've been able to rely on Him more than ever, especially since I do not have as much of a social life since moving to Orlando. This I believe is a good thing for me, it has been sort of a sabbatical for me. Which, if you knew me prior to Orlando, you know I am a pretty hard core busy bee. I know pursuing Production Design is the major part of God's plan for my life. Though trying to figure out His plans for me other than school have been quite confusing. I know each friend I've had has always been there for a reason, whether they're apart of my life for a season, or they're one of my friends forever. I suppose you could say I have been over analyzing different situations I have encountered here because I am on my own and it is up to me and only me to figure out the plans for my life that God has for me. It is quite exciting, though also scary, thinking about the experiences I will be enduring now that I am independent. And exciting to see what more God has planned for me, cause the majority of things here have been absolutely wonderful. I am thankful for all God has blessed me with. =]

Thanks for reading my blog, check out tomorrow for TILT!
Love you all,

Things I Love Thursday

Ello my fellow blog readers,
I hope your week has been absolutely fantastic! This past weekend was Fourth of July, and I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday weekend. I wasn't able to make it home for the weekend, though I was able to work a ton. Being able to work was nice, despite the very slow business.

My favorite part about working during this holiday would have to be the type of customers I was able to encounter. Since my work is connected to an Airport, most of our business is travelers from the airport. Most American's had already arrived at their destination for this holiday, so the majority of people passing through work were foreigners. Just about everyone was either from Europe, Australia, or Asia. My favorite was diffinitely the people from Australia! I have a fascination with their accent, I just think it's the most beautiful thing. Next on the list of course is people from Europe. There was one family who came through with a few kids, and talking to a 3 year old kid from London is so much fun. Their accent is double cute because it was a kid. I loved it.

Speaking of Europeans. [haha] I love tea! I may have even brought up tea before in a previous blog, though I am going to talk about it again if I have. Chamomile tea to be specific. This is is especially nice for me to drink prior to going to sleep. It helps me relax after a long day of work, or cleaning in today's case. So if you're ever having trouble relaxing before bed or maybe in general you want to relax one afternoon is you've got no plans to be rowdy or hyper. Have a glass of chamomile tea! I prefer it hot since hot tea is better for you, especially if you aren't feeling well. Though you may enjoy it whichever way desired.

When I lived in Arcadia, there was this road I loved to drive down because of a small bump in the road. Now, I'm not talking about a inconvenient bump like a speed bump. I'm talking about those mini hills that when you drive over you can almost get a little air. It's not good to go too fast over them, but if you find the right speed it makes it kind of fun, like a roller coaster. Well, I have greatly missed driving on that road. Although!!!! I have found a new fun spot to drive over! When I drive home from work, there are lots of sideways bumps that are just interesting to drive over, but at the end of those there is a normal one. The kind I love. It's perfect. I now miss the one in Arcadia less. Haha.

I love cleaning, especially when you're finished cleaning. This morning I was woken up by tons of phone calls from my roommate. So since I was already awake and unable to go back to sleep, I decided to start my cleaning. Today is my day off of work so I can relax and take my time making sure everything is cleaned up. My house wasn't a huge mess, but things definitely needed to be dusted and reorganized a bit. I am almost finished cleaning, I just have to finish laundry and then sweep and mop the linoleum. I do in fact though have to make a trip to walmart to buy a broom and a mop. For some reason my roommates don't have either, which I find strange. Though at least I have a vacuum. And for that, I am thankful! I cannot wait to be finished with cleaning. It will be a gratifying feeling having a completely clean house. Yay!

I love youtube.com. I have mentioned this many times. So I am going to give you links to two of my favorites of one of my favorite people on youtube. His name is Joe, but he goes by Mystery Guitar Man. He is talented musically, and makes some pretty fun videos. This first one is called Magic Glasses, and the second one is called Pop! They're Gone! I hope you enjoy them!

My also have been hearing a song on the radio that I have began to really really enjoy listening to. It's called Some Kind of Love. Here's the link to listen to it on youtube: Some Kind of Love - Phil Stacey. Listen to it sometime. It's about God's love, and hearing it puts me into a great mood. As well as singing it, in my car or my apartment where no one but God can hear me. haha.

Pjs. And spending the day in them. Need I say more?

Another song! Francesca Battistelli sings a song called Beautiful Beautiful. This song is another one of those feel good songs to listen to. There's even a music video on youtube. Beautiful Beautiful.

Piano. At work there are two Piano's in the lobby right in the area I spend the majority of my time at work. There's  huge white grand piano. So beautiful! There's also a black one, though I think this one is a smaller grand piano. Not definite because I am not a piano expert. One of my favorite things about work is that customers or guests at the hotel will often play these pianos. Most of the time these piano players have been very talented, and it's so peaceful for me to hear someone play the piano. One of my Best Friend's, [Brittany] plays piano, and hearing it reminds me of her.

The Flameless Luminary air freshener from Febreze. It is wonderful! Cranberry-Pear. It smells amazing, and looks so adorable! the light blinks as if it has an actual flame in it, and the square paper with the cute designs on it is what makes it smell so nice. Definitely my new favorite type of air freshener. Try it out sometime. =]

Alright! Well I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend, stay optimistic and positive about things in life. You'll be happier when you focus on the happy things in life. I promise.
Thanks for reading my blog,
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Welcome back! I hope everyone's week went wonderful! Cause mine did!

One. Thunder Storms. One is currently happening, and it's the most peaceful sound to me.

Two. Sleep. Last night I slept for thirteen hours! Plus I've been resting and taking naps today. It's my day off and my choice of possible things I can do is sleep.

Three. Having a peace about living out what God has for you. When you walk through the doors he opens and notice every detail of why He had opened that door.

Four. Hyatt. Yes, this is where I currently work; I will not be surprised if I talk about this place a lot now. Yesterday I  had Orientation, and today I was reading through my leather bound binder I received during Orientation. I found two pages full of where I would now receive discounts, and just learning more about the place I work. By the way, there are over thirty different things I receive discounts for. Hyatt is definitely a recommended place to work.

Five. Getting mail. Specifically I got a card in the mail welcoming me to the Hyatt. The card was even personally signed by the people working in Human Resources. How sweet.

Six. Finding out that people I know blog.

Seven. Using purple as my font color, because purple is one of my favorite colors.

Eight. Seeing and talking to a few famous people.

Nine. I get my first pay check tomorrow.

Ten. Having friends visit me in my new apartment.

Eleven. Seeing Eclipse at the 12:16am showing.

Twelve. Finding a cute shirt on a great sale, and loving the way wearing it makes me feel good.

Thirteen. I get off work at five on Saturday. Which means I will be able to attend church at six pm. Yay!

Fourteen. Busting the "good things happen to bad people" myth.

Fifteen. Receiving a free light bulb at Orientation the day after my living room light went out. Haha.

Sixteen. Cracker Barrel's Momma's French Toast with Blackberry Preserves, two over-easy eggs, and turkey sausage. Not only was this meal absolutely amazing from the food, but I was also able to spend time with two longtime wonderful friends whom I haven't seen in awhile.

Thanks for reading my blog, sorry that most of it had to do with work. Though I love my job, what can I say. Till next time. Have a fantabulous Fourth of July weekend. God Bless.
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Alright, it is now 11:49pm and I am not sure if I will finish this before tomorrow. Though I am going to pretend this is going by Pacific Time, so now I have three more hours. =]

One:  Go to Google, type in "lol limewire". Then, click I'm feeling lucky... [Do not worry, it is appropriate, and hilarious!]

Two: Using "Post.Script." instead of "p.s." It makes me feel smart, since so many people do not know what p.s. means. Also I enjoy having things typed out instead of abbreviated, kind of a little OCD habit of mine. ha

Three: [[[Brackets!]]]  I prefer [] over (). Brackets are just more fun, new, and squarish. Plus smiley's are cuter with them. =]

Four: My New Job! I am a Hostess at McCoy's Bar and Grill at the Hyatt Hotel. And I enjoy so much about my job. All of my employees are super fun and easy to get along with, as well as the whole staff at the Hyatt. I enjoy the restaurant atmosphere because people are usually in a good mood when arriving at a nice restaurant because they're happy to be able to enjoy good food. And as I mentioned in last week's blog, I love people. I am also loving my job because it showed up at the perfect time. I knew God had the right job for me, and it is amazing to see what I have been patient for really start to unfold within my life. I have officially had three days of work so far and I am feeling more and more comfortable being placed in this job. Yay!

Five: Exercising. I went walking on a treadmill last night, and it really felt refreshing and energizing to get back to being active.

Six: No Bake cookies. I'm not sure how many of you have tried some no bake cookies. Though I had all of the ingredients available for them, so I decided to try out a random recipe online. I love to cook, especially bake, though when you're a bit low on money, there is only so much you can do about the extravagance of your diet. My cookies were made with oatmeal, Nesquik, and peanut butter as the main ingredients. They turned out to be really delicious and my recipe made a ton of them so they have been lasting me all week. Which is an extra plus!

Seven: Painting. Last Sunday night I was watching Discovery Church STATUS online. The service was very art oriented, there was some painters, the worship was most of the night, and then there were five poems that taught a message about God and His character. While this was going on I had a deep desire to paint something again. So as the worship playing and I listened to the poems, God gave me something to paint too. This of course also created the opportunity for me to write another blog, King.

Eight: Shortcuts. While working at the Hyatt I have the opportunity to talk with many people. One person in particular was extremely helpful with driving directions, thankfully. He told me a faster way for me to arrive at work, while still avoiding tolls. It's Beautiful.

Nine: Meeting new people, and knowing you're going to be friends with them for a long time. =]]]

Ten: Being able to write a blog about ALL positive things. Negativity just brings people down, and I believe it is smart to focus on the wonderful things in life. =]

Alright everybody, I have been busy with my work schedule so I apologize for not posting this on the actual Thursday day, but I'm sure you will be okay. Haha. Till next Thursday, Have a Fantabulous week!

Thank You for reading my blog,
I am extremely appreciative!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Relieve stress.

Recently I've been applying at jobs, after jobs, after jobs, after jobs... And through all these applications I've memorized references addresses and phone numbers, answered just about every personality question there is, and I've wanted to curl up and cry through most of it. One question on the kmart personality questions stuck out especially to me tonight. There were many questions related to how you handle stress, and this one was, "when stressed out from work what do you do to relieve the stress?" the answers you were able to choose were:
sleep in on your day off.
eat something delicious.
exercise.
spend time with friends/family.
I don't get stressed.

When I read this question, I wished there was an "Other" option because honestly there's only one thing that can help me relieve my stress. I put "sleep in on my day off" for my answer, mostly because physically it makes me feel better after getting to sleep in with no time to get up. Though I wanted to answer God.
I know that sounds cheesy, but in all honesty, that is who I rely on. I simply cannot imagine my life without God, I can barley remember what I ever did before I knew Him. [except that I was extremely depressed.] Even though moving to Orlando is a big change, and a scary change for me, I knew I would be able to do it because I have God. And no matter what stress I undergo, I will always be able to turn to Him for comfort, peace, and guidance. God has the right job for me, and the right timing in it all. And the last thing I'm worried about is getting overly stressed, why? Because I have the creator of the universe to carry my load! I have applied to about forty, maybe even more, jobs recently. And out of those plus a few others I plan on applying at here soon, God has the position held for me. And I can smile, and worship Him for each and every opportunity that does, or doesn't work out. I am especially going to remember to worship Him when something doesn't work out because I know that if I was put into a place where I am not supposed to be at then I would ultimately be unhappy. And Katrina doesn't do unhappy. =P
So remember everyone, no matter what stress life is crowding you with remember that God knows you can handle it, and the parts you can't handle, He can, and He will! Let God have the first and final say in your life, He knows the right choices for you to make, and when you choose to live in His will your life will prosper. So... if you need to relieve some stress:
Let God have the keys so He can open and close the right doors in your life.
God Bless
luvkat
