kismet happens

be keen
don't run from your dreams
passion carries through
your dreams are more than a sport
take away the finish line
always petition to strive
goals without dates
never ending, just pursuing
it happens
the right story is the right now
embrace the chance
exist without fear
bypass doubt
start trusting Him.

Live in the now, embrace what you want to be, let God guide your persistence and prove to the world what won't defeat you.

Things I Love Thursday

Things I Love Thursday..
The day I encourage myself to sit back and reflect on my life and everything positive in it. This one is going to be for the last two weeks because last week was a bit too crazy for me to write.

+I love my friends. I love that my friends are there for me when I need them the most. I love that my friends listen to me. I love that my friends understand me and who I choose to be. I love laughing with friends, dining with friends, and just being around people I love.

+I love lighting design. I love focusing lights for a show and I definitely believe that is where my passion most lies with lighting.

+I love peace. I love that I feel peaceful and relaxed when I am home. I love things being calm and..well peaceful.

+The Script concert was everything I hoped for last weekend. I had a ton of fun that evening and the lighting for the concert was just as wonderful.

+Being able to watch church online when I'm not feeling good, and there being a service at 1pm so I can sleep in!

+Accomplishing tasks and getting things finished.

+Things happening for a reason.

+Learning from trials put in front of me.

+Smiling.

+Sunny weather because it reminds me that florida is basically a state with full time summer.

+Cold pouring rain, and puddle jumping.

+School. Yes, I did type school! I love Valencia and everything it has caught me thus far. I love that I am able to pursue my passion here, from people who are passionate about what they are doing.

+Speaking of school... The Drowsy Chaperone starts at Valencia tomorrow evening, and tonight was the invited dress. I was so excited to finally sit back and watch the finishing touches come together on the show I helped with. It was beautiful, and I loved it.

+ Laffy Taffy jokes, they never get old. (For me...)

+Cold weather is back again!

+Fine tuning my resume, and designing a business card for myself.

+Family, I love mine.

+Getting offered an opportunity to design lights for a show later this year. Excited much, yes!

Chad Sugg.. said well..

Whole-Hearted

It's been over a year that I have been living on my own. When I first moved my biggest independence worries were learning to pay bills, buy groceries, cook for myself, and navigate around town without getting lost. Though through this process of being independent I have learned that it is so much more than that for me. It's about putting all my hearts dependance on God. It's about not loosing my focus when life meets me with a train wreck. It's about making time to devote time and energy to pursuing God's will, God's love, and God's path for my life. I need God to hold onto my heart, not the world to, the enemy to, or myself to hold onto it. I need to be whole-hearted.
For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. 2 Chronicals 16:9

|Cure for Heart Disease|
When the ground is shaking I can stand firm with You
and though trials will prevail, so will Your love.
With energy at a low and my heart heavy with weight
there's passion, persistence and courage in an envelope to date.
Behold the truth and create a pattern you can submit
for the prescription for disorder is in a healthy heart that envelopes a God
so mighty in love and mighty in peace
So pick up every piece and gather your faith
cause God has the glue to cure this disease.
Smile and rejoice cause He has the cure
the cure to find what you've been searching for.

Whole-hearted my heart will be Yours.

Never Easy

Where are you standing in your faith?
Personally I strive to stand closest to the front lines, ready to embrace the challenges and blessings God has for me. There will always be pressure to cause you to sway, and the stronger in Christ you become, the more the attacks also seem to come. With that, it will also become easier to hold strong with your beliefs because God becomes more real and more important to lean on in stressful times.

Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book called outliers. Though I have not personally read this book, yet, I have done some research on his writings. He talks about this 10,000 Hour Rule. To be great, or really master something, he says you must put at least 10,000 hours into the task you're trying to become great at. Think about this, that is 3 hours a day, for a decade! It's obvious, the more time you spend on something, the better you become.
Spending time with God is important in your daily life. If you want to achieve a better understanding of God or want God's love to become more prominent in your life, then spend time with Him. My only question is, how willing are you to put in the effort to learn about God into your daily life? There is so much I want to learn about God, and to put it simply..
I want to know God the way He knows me.
Do you?
Motivation is hard, I completely understand. Start with small daily goals. Goals you know you can achieve. I once made my New Years resolution to read the bible in a year. Yes, it is a great challenge, though I never broke down my daily goals, and never achieved this resolution because I had no direction for goals I knew I could achieve in a timely manner.

I love finding music by well known artists that are about God in some way. Katy Perry's first album was a Christian album, though not many people know this. She never hit big until her hit single "I Kissed A Girl." This new album "Teenage Dream" is similar to her type of songs, although there is one song that stands out among the rest. It's called, "Who Am I Living For." When you listen to the lyrics, it's obvious she is talking about her struggle with keeping her faith in her media influenced lifestyle.

"It’s never easy to be chosen, never easy to be called
Standing on the front line when the bombs start to fall
I can see the heavens but I still hear the flames
Calling out my name
."

God has chose each and every one of us to be Christ children, and to make disciples of Him. Christians stand on the "front lines" of the battle for Christ to become known. Katy's lyrics mention how she can see the heavens, yet the flames are calling her name. She wants to be focused on Christ, but the influence of satan is strong. I know for a fact that she is not alone in this struggle. Many Christians face this influence on a daily basis, and the more we bask in Christ's love and fellowship the stronger we will be to ignore the negative influence.
In Peter 4:12-19 It talks about the sufferings Christians endure.
Verse 14: If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
Basically when you're feeling attacked, stand strong in Christ, you are being attacked because satan feels threatened by you, and God blesses you for being strong in your faith.

Verse 18: “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
God does not just want us to be strong in Him, he wants us to ask Him for help to stand strong in Him. We will find strength when we most need it because He is so willing to make sure we can pull through our struggles. In case you did not know, God wants the absolute best for you and your life! He wants you to be healthy, He wants you to succeed, He wants you to feel comfortable in your skin, He wants you to have less worries, He wants you to be happy! Many people have this idea that God is unhappy with them. God is love. Which means He is without hate; He has his passionate, unconditional, and never ending love for ALL of His people.

Listen to this song by Katy Perry. For me I found comfort, comfort that I am not alone in struggles, even if our struggles many not compare the same exact way, we all endure struggles about who we are living for.

May you have a wonderful and blessed weekend. Happy Friday!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Let God Handle This.

Update:

I went to register for classes this past Friday.
Turns out that three out of the four classes I need this semester are full.
So I am on a waiting list.
"Sigh"
Though I just noticed an available spot for my makeup class. And I know there are three total on the waiting list for this class.
I am not sure if I am second or third. As long as the first person misses the 24 hour sign up, and if I'm third, then the second person misses it. Or maybe they both don't need it anymore..[that feels nicer to say.] Then I can secure that class. =]

Basically, I'm hoping for God to handle this stress. Cause It's a bit overwhelming. Ah.
Mostly though, I need to get into my Advanced Stage Lighting class. Cause it is only offered in the Spring. Which means if I don't take it now.. I can't take it until next year.
That thought scares me.

Good news: I looked at the class list for my CAD class, and I know a few people. Yay!

Another update..
I've got a concept design due tomorrow for Creative Design for Theatre.
Only thirty more pages left to read before I can start to conjure up some ideas.

Haha.

Prayers?

Thanks,
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Plans prevent stress

When I have something planned out, I stress less. I am not sure how you all work with planning, but I enjoy plans. This mostly goes for work or school scheduling. When I am with friends, I do not mind having things plan out randomly.
Anyway, back to plans.
I have been stressing about my school schedule because I missed the early resister dates. One of the courses I need next semester is already full. Ah! Writing that is stressing me out! Though I have a plan.
I moved to Orlando with purpose.
I moved here to better myself.
I moved here because I felt like God was leading me here.
I moved here to become independent.
I moved here to get a new beginning.
Though the reason I chose Orlando was because of school.
I want my career to be focused around Stage Lighting. I am currently in a Production design program at Valencia Community College. The funny thing about Valencia is although they have quite a few people in the Entertainment Design/Film/Theatre majors they have certain courses that are only offered Fall, only offered Spring, or only offered spring or fall, not summer. So what does this mean for me?
This means I must have a plan. I must know which courses I will take when before I ever get to resister for classes.
Thankfully, Valencia has this application within the Atlas email called an Education Plan. This lets me choose my major, and place each course for the major in the semester I plan to take it until I graduate.
I just altered my Education Plan because I had to make sure I was fitting in the Spring only, and fall only courses in the right semesters.
If all goes as planned... I will be registering for classes friday at noon. I will get on the wait list for Stagecraft for this spring, and since I know God has made it possible for me to succeed here, He will help me make it into the class. I will get into that class. I need to.
Granted, if I don't. I have a back-up plan. Though the back-up plan requires me to take more summer courses.
So once again, if all goes as planned...
I will have my Technical Certificate by the end of this upcoming summer. =] Yay!
Now what does this mean for me?
According to my lighting teacher, I can sign myself up for the union to get jobs in my industry already!
Saaweet!! Right! =]
We'll see how that goes
As continued, if all goes as planned.
I will finish my classes by the end of Spring 2012 for my AS desgree. I will then have my internship as the only requirement left for my degree. Woot!

I feel less stressed already.
Yay!

On a lighter note...

The lighting teacher for the Advanced Lighting Class I plan to take next semester designs the lighting for Northland Church.
Uhm, connections....please?

Unconcealed Face

[if you're a male, this post isn't for you.]

 wake up.
make up.
cover your face up.
conceal the true you
your choice
your new appearance
you're a walking canvas
don't forget it.

Pick up any modern magazine aimed at females.
The majority of it is articles based on appearance, and they sure don't want you to forget it!
Exercise and eating. Alright, you want to be healthy, great!
Clothes, please wear them.
Makeup...Not quite the necessity.
For me, I have never been much of a full out makeup wearer. I like mascara, and eye shadow, sometimes eyeliner. Though recently I've been wearing it more often, cover up, blush or bronzer, mascare, eyeliner, multiple eye shadows...  I feel like I've forgotten that I have a real face behind it all. So I'm going to be fasting make up for this week.
I challenge you girls.. Instead of finding the best lip gloss, or mascara. Find a good make up remover. Something that wipes away the residue from eye liner and mascara easily. Wear your face proudly. God made you beautiful as you are. God didn't put make up on Eve. I mean, she really didn't even have clothes.
Please only refer to that sense of style in the shower though! Haha. The makeup is nice every once in awhile, but don't use it to hide the true you. The world seems to think that makeup is a need, they want you to depend on it. Don't be dependent on something that conceals the true you.

See your beauty as the makeup runs off your face.

And as some musical inspiration for the week: Beautiful - Group 1 Crew

Things I Love Thursday/Friday

I am late getting home tonight, so even though it is still my Thursday night, it is officially Friday. Oh well, here are the things I loved about my week!
*First off, I feel like this week has dragged on so slow. This could be because I am wishing for time to fly so I can start school, or cause I have been working the pm shifts at work and the business has been throughely slow. Either way, I'm thankful it's Thursday! Why? Cause this Thursday is my Friday! I have Friday and Saturday off work. I am completely thrilled! I have not had a Saturday off since I started working here. Yay!
This upcoming Saturday will also be the two month mark of working at the Hyatt. Yay!
*For those of you who know me pretty well you know I am a fan of Julian Smith on youtube. He often talks about or features his cat, Scout in videos. This week "Scout" created a Twitter account.

*Getting recognition from a manager on what quality of customer service? Smiling at every guest, of course. I would. Haha.
*Getting to hang out with coworkers at the beach on my day off.
*Pami is moving back to Orlando. Tomorrow!Today!
*Laughing, and how great it feels to be able to laugh with people, whether they are your friends or not!

*Getting to know my roommate more, and loving to see how God really worked out a great situation for me in Orlando.
*The Kit to my Kat is back in Orlando too!
*Knowing you are safe not because of cops or security, but because of God.
*Sleep! Speaking of, I am off to bed now.

Thanks for reading my blog. I apologize that the majority of my blog postings have been TILT. I hope to gather some blog ideas I have and create them for mid-week postings.

With Him

I won't go into too much detail about what this is portraying since it is pretty obvious.
However, I will ask you a question, "When you pray with Jesus/God do you give him the time to respond?"
When I think about praying, I think about how I'm praying with Him, not just to Him. This video is a great example of someone praying to Jesus/God. When you're talking to someone you're not really expecting a response. So next time you pray, talk with God, and expect His response.

Ramble

It's less than an hour till Thursday, and it has come all too quickly this week.
A long time ago, when I got my first job. Junior Year, 2007. I was telling a friend about my new job and he said congratulations. Though he also mentioned that time flies when you have a job. I've remembered this ever since he told me. Why? Possibly because it's very true. When you get a job you find out your schedule, you count down the days until pay day, and you try to squeeze your social schedule within the free time you're given. I honestly feel like my life has just absolutely flown by since I started working. When I was in High School I was perfectly okay with that because I was not much of a fan of my school. Though now life has flown by still and even though I am only nineteen and a lot of people I know are older than me, I feel old. haha.

Anyway, on other terms. God is working thoroughly through me. I've been able to rely on Him more than ever, especially since I do not have as much of a social life since moving to Orlando. This I believe is a good thing for me, it has been sort of a sabbatical for me. Which, if you knew me prior to Orlando, you know I am a pretty hard core busy bee. I know pursuing Production Design is the major part of God's plan for my life. Though trying to figure out His plans for me other than school have been quite confusing. I know each friend I've had has always been there for a reason, whether they're apart of my life for a season, or they're one of my friends forever. I suppose you could say I have been over analyzing different situations I have encountered here because I am on my own and it is up to me and only me to figure out the plans for my life that God has for me. It is quite exciting, though also scary, thinking about the experiences I will be enduring now that I am independent. And exciting to see what more God has planned for me, cause the majority of things here have been absolutely wonderful. I am thankful for all God has blessed me with. =]

Thanks for reading my blog, check out tomorrow for TILT!

Your Culture.

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Tonight I got off work at five pm. I was excited, even though I pretty much love my job. I was mostly excited because I was able to make the Saturday night service at Discovery. The worship rocked, as usual. But not only did the worship rock, but the preaching was wonderful too!
The youth pastor spoke tonight and he was talking about being an influence on your culture. One analogy he gave us was really vivid and easy to understand.
His point was about how many Christians just go to church, and then go home and don't live out what they've learned or heard.
He said for example..
Imagine going to a football game, for those of you who LOVE football you may paint your face, or have the fun foam finger and be all excited for it! And the team is excited too! They have warm ups with chants, and then they get in the huddle, talk about the play they're going to make. They're all pumped and they even hit each other as a way to show they are excited.. or something.. haha.
Though, once they release from the huddle, they go sit on the bench.

...
....
.....
......uhm..? what?

Now as a fan, wouldn't you be a little disappointed?

Well, they get back in the huddle to talk about the play and are getting all excited again! "Hey man, this one's really gonna get them! Yeahh!"
They're encouraging each other..
They break..

and once again, they go sit on the bench..

...
....
.....
......uhm...? really??

Do you want to continue watching this team? A team who gets rowdy and excited about what they plan to do. Though they never follow through and even try to play the game...
Chances are, you're not sticking around for this game...

Now look at this in comparison to Christians.
You go to church, hear a great sermon that gets you all kinds of pumped up!
"The service was great today!" "That message really spoke to me!"
But they go home, and go on with life. As if they never heard the message!!

I am not condeming you, trust me on this. It's a habit many, including myself have been guilty of.
They say people will know you by your testimony. So if someone was to go to your work, or your school and talk to the people you encounter daily. And mention, hey, did you know so and so is a Christian?
What would their response be?
"HAHAHA...funny joke!!"
"Is that why they're so happy all the time?"
"Yeah, I know! They won't shut up about it!"
"I think you have the wrong person here..."

Those are just examples.. So when you're going about your day.. are you hiding the fact that you know a God who can change the lives of your culture? Or have people noticed something different about you? Maybe the way you carry yourself, the way you treat people, the way you act. From another message I heard a long time ago. This lady mentioned how sad people in this world are, if you've people watched, you'll agree with this. Though if you know Jesus, you should be able to smile and rejoice, even in the midst of trails. So if you know about God, the happy God who absolutely adores you and everyone else on the earth. Tell your face about it! Let His joy show in your life! Even in the worst of days, you can smile because you know your God is holding you through it. So next time you get excited about the service you attend, or the right words from God you hear. Do the best you possibly can to let that live through you!
Now I know we're not all perfect, and we're not always going to get this step right! Though the more you try, the easier it becomes to let God live through you. People will know you by your testimony. So when you face hard times, and you make it through easier then most expected, they'll notice.
So think about it, what can you do to influence your culture? Will you get out there and play, or will you sit on the bench?

Thank You for reading my blog,
God Bless!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Forget sleep, lets write!

Another blog?
Yeah!
But it hasn't even been 24 hours since your last one?
Yeah, I know! Usually they're days or a week apart.

Haha.. alright. Last night I got a lot of rest. Needless to say. I am not very tired.
So I was talking to God, and thanking Him. I have come a long way from where I was a year ago.
And there are people that were removed from my life, for good reason. although those reasons may not have made sense in the past. They sure do now. And it wasn't just people, but situations, environments, and mentalities. Not to say there weren't any good people, situations, environments, and mentalities.. Because there absolutely was! Plenty in which I miss greatly. Anyway, the dreams I've been having lately aren't as terrible as they used to be. They're becoming as pleasant as my new living situation is. They're about living here, and people here. Not only that, but the people I love and miss greatly from before get mixed in too. It's been the best. So I was about to write a status about my happy thoughts on twitter. Then I took the words and started writing. A poem came to be, yay! So here it is.

it's nice to be away from you
to be so far away
to exist in my own reality
no longer bound with shame
I'm free from the trap
the bait no longer tempts me

as often as the chances have always been there
the choices just began to embrace the opportunities
a home I can call my own
a place I can be alone
yet never lonely for my God engulfs me
and places people in the path I'm walking

His promises ring truth
my purpose with Him is fulfilling
the past is really gone
and the present is worth living
now I can live free, so please
consume me dreams..
dreams of my new reality

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did, even though the meaning is personal to me. I will often put my poetry within my blog, so keep on the lookout. =]
Thanks for reading my blog, I appreciate is a ton!

Things I Love Thursday

Welcome back! I hope everyone's week went wonderful! Cause mine did!

One. Thunder Storms. One is currently happening, and it's the most peaceful sound to me.

Two. Sleep. Last night I slept for thirteen hours! Plus I've been resting and taking naps today. It's my day off and my choice of possible things I can do is sleep.

Three. Having a peace about living out what God has for you. When you walk through the doors he opens and notice every detail of why He had opened that door.

Four. Hyatt. Yes, this is where I currently work; I will not be surprised if I talk about this place a lot now. Yesterday I  had Orientation, and today I was reading through my leather bound binder I received during Orientation. I found two pages full of where I would now receive discounts, and just learning more about the place I work. By the way, there are over thirty different things I receive discounts for. Hyatt is definitely a recommended place to work.

Five. Getting mail. Specifically I got a card in the mail welcoming me to the Hyatt. The card was even personally signed by the people working in Human Resources. How sweet.

Six. Finding out that people I know blog.

Seven. Using purple as my font color, because purple is one of my favorite colors.

Eight. Seeing and talking to a few famous people.

Nine. I get my first pay check tomorrow.

Ten. Having friends visit me in my new apartment.

Eleven. Seeing Eclipse at the 12:16am showing.

Twelve. Finding a cute shirt on a great sale, and loving the way wearing it makes me feel good.

Thirteen. I get off work at five on Saturday. Which means I will be able to attend church at six pm. Yay!

Fourteen. Busting the "good things happen to bad people" myth.

Fifteen. Receiving a free light bulb at Orientation the day after my living room light went out. Haha.

Sixteen. Cracker Barrel's Momma's French Toast with Blackberry Preserves, two over-easy eggs, and turkey sausage. Not only was this meal absolutely amazing from the food, but I was also able to spend time with two longtime wonderful friends whom I haven't seen in awhile.

Thanks for reading my blog, sorry that most of it had to do with work. Though I love my job, what can I say. Till next time. Have a fantabulous Fourth of July weekend. God Bless.
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Alright, it is now 11:49pm and I am not sure if I will finish this before tomorrow. Though I am going to pretend this is going by Pacific Time, so now I have three more hours. =]

One:  Go to Google, type in "lol limewire". Then, click I'm feeling lucky... [Do not worry, it is appropriate, and hilarious!]

Two: Using "Post.Script." instead of "p.s." It makes me feel smart, since so many people do not know what p.s. means. Also I enjoy having things typed out instead of abbreviated, kind of a little OCD habit of mine. ha

Three: [[[Brackets!]]]  I prefer [] over (). Brackets are just more fun, new, and squarish. Plus smiley's are cuter with them. =]

Four: My New Job! I am a Hostess at McCoy's Bar and Grill at the Hyatt Hotel. And I enjoy so much about my job. All of my employees are super fun and easy to get along with, as well as the whole staff at the Hyatt. I enjoy the restaurant atmosphere because people are usually in a good mood when arriving at a nice restaurant because they're happy to be able to enjoy good food. And as I mentioned in last week's blog, I love people. I am also loving my job because it showed up at the perfect time. I knew God had the right job for me, and it is amazing to see what I have been patient for really start to unfold within my life. I have officially had three days of work so far and I am feeling more and more comfortable being placed in this job. Yay!

Five: Exercising. I went walking on a treadmill last night, and it really felt refreshing and energizing to get back to being active.

Six: No Bake cookies. I'm not sure how many of you have tried some no bake cookies. Though I had all of the ingredients available for them, so I decided to try out a random recipe online. I love to cook, especially bake, though when you're a bit low on money, there is only so much you can do about the extravagance of your diet. My cookies were made with oatmeal, Nesquik, and peanut butter as the main ingredients. They turned out to be really delicious and my recipe made a ton of them so they have been lasting me all week. Which is an extra plus!

Seven: Painting. Last Sunday night I was watching Discovery Church STATUS online. The service was very art oriented, there was some painters, the worship was most of the night, and then there were five poems that taught a message about God and His character. While this was going on I had a deep desire to paint something again. So as the worship playing and I listened to the poems, God gave me something to paint too. This of course also created the opportunity for me to write another blog, King.

Eight: Shortcuts. While working at the Hyatt I have the opportunity to talk with many people. One person in particular was extremely helpful with driving directions, thankfully. He told me a faster way for me to arrive at work, while still avoiding tolls. It's Beautiful.

Nine: Meeting new people, and knowing you're going to be friends with them for a long time. =]]]

Ten: Being able to write a blog about ALL positive things. Negativity just brings people down, and I believe it is smart to focus on the wonderful things in life. =]

Alright everybody, I have been busy with my work schedule so I apologize for not posting this on the actual Thursday day, but I'm sure you will be okay. Haha. Till next Thursday, Have a Fantabulous week!

Thank You for reading my blog,
I am extremely appreciative!
Love you all,

Relieve stress.

Recently I've been applying at jobs, after jobs, after jobs, after jobs... And through all these applications I've memorized references addresses and phone numbers, answered just about every personality question there is, and I've wanted to curl up and cry through most of it. One question on the kmart personality questions stuck out especially to me tonight. There were many questions related to how you handle stress, and this one was, "when stressed out from work what do you do to relieve the stress?" the answers you were able to choose were:
sleep in on your day off.
eat something delicious.
exercise.
spend time with friends/family.
I don't get stressed.

When I read this question, I wished there was an "Other" option because honestly there's only one thing that can help me relieve my stress. I put "sleep in on my day off" for my answer, mostly because physically it makes me feel better after getting to sleep in with no time to get up. Though I wanted to answer God.
I know that sounds cheesy, but in all honesty, that is who I rely on. I simply cannot imagine my life without God, I can barley remember what I ever did before I knew Him. [except that I was extremely depressed.] Even though moving to Orlando is a big change, and a scary change for me, I knew I would be able to do it because I have God. And no matter what stress I undergo, I will always be able to turn to Him for comfort, peace, and guidance. God has the right job for me, and the right timing in it all. And the last thing I'm worried about is getting overly stressed, why? Because I have the creator of the universe to carry my load! I have applied to about forty, maybe even more, jobs recently. And out of those plus a few others I plan on applying at here soon, God has the position held for me. And I can smile, and worship Him for each and every opportunity that does, or doesn't work out. I am especially going to remember to worship Him when something doesn't work out because I know that if I was put into a place where I am not supposed to be at then I would ultimately be unhappy. And Katrina doesn't do unhappy. =P
So remember everyone, no matter what stress life is crowding you with remember that God knows you can handle it, and the parts you can't handle, He can, and He will! Let God have the first and final say in your life, He knows the right choices for you to make, and when you choose to live in His will your life will prosper. So... if you need to relieve some stress:
Let God have the keys so He can open and close the right doors in your life.
God Bless

A picture can flicker

A picture is worth a thousand words. [As the ever so popular phrase goes.]
[No, this photo is not the one I'm referring to. It just fits this blog well.]

Tonight, I got angry. Really angry. Angry enough that I had such a deep desire to punch someone. enough to make them bleed. Not a random person, and honestly, not just one person.
Sometimes my mind gets so full of rage I have a hard time resuming myself from this angry... fixation.
Instead I compile scenarios of what I'm going to do now that I am angry. I suppose to get revenge.
Thankfully I was interrupted.
And you know who interrupted this... mere feeling/thought...

God, of course.
He repeated: Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

Do you think I wanted to hear this? HECK NO!!!
I wanted to hurt somebody. I wanted to emotionally tear someone apart.
And to think, I saw a simple photo that set my anger ablaze. Not even something purposed to upset me, but I let myself get overwhelmed with angry from the memories of past anger by simple seeing a photo.

Although I still felt this anger, I forced myself to look up the scripture. 1 Corinthians 13:6
1 Corinthians 13 is all about love, God's Unconditional Agape Love.
And even though I still felt these feelings, I set my focus on love, His love! And then I remembered a quote that I cannot quote who said, but it's stuck with me for many years.
"Hate is easy, Love takes courage."
Now, I don't know how you feel, but I would like to live life courageously, not easy. [the lion would agree with me.]
The great thing about feelings is that they can be tamed. [And not tamed by man very well.] Once I stopped focusing on why I was angry, and what I could do to satisfy my anger.. and I started to look to help from God.. I started feeling better. I calmed down, and was able to put out the anger flame. I will not be controlled by my flesh. I would like to live out of my spirit. And the only way I can do that is by letting God handle my flesh issues, while I focus on His love, His grace, His mercy, His peace, His wisdom, and His comfort.
So if you find yourself, angry, sad, or whatever feeling that makes it hard to feel "loving"...
Surrender. Let God handle the mess, focus on Him, worship Him, love on Him. And as you take in the awesomeness of God's awesomeness [lol..totally a word, my spell check says so.] He will deal with your anger, sadness, etc... Trust that God knows what He's doing, without your help.

Amazing Grace

The other day at Movement Youth, Pastor Joe was singing Amazing Grace during worship. Obviously this song is amazing because of how great God's Grace is, but it is more than that for me. I get a feeling of over-joy when I hear it! If you don't understand what I mean by over-joy, I mean my whole being feels consumed with so much joy it's hard to contain it! I smile so ridiculously much through this song that I'm never sure what to do with myself. So I listened to the well known chorus...
"Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saves a wretch like me
I once was lost
And now I'm found
Was blind but now I see"

And I heard God comforting me in this song. I'm moving to Orlando in a few weeks, and this large change has been on my mind a whole lot ever since the plans started arising. I'm excited on many levels about the change and move, yet I am also very nervous and quite scared. I've been through a move before. Moves scare me. Frighten me, actually. Starting new again, especially when I feel comfortable here... Yes, I know there are a few people I know who live in Orlando, but they're not who I've been close to for the past year or so. Anyway, my point, Amazing Grace. When the lyrics said, "I once was lost, and now I'm found, was blind, but now I see." I got a huge comfort. When I moved to Florida from Cali, I did not personally know God. In fact, I had never stepped into a church until I arrived here. So the last time I moved, I was "lost" and "blind". And I made it through that, God was comforting me before I even knew to acknowledge Him. And now that I know God on a personal level, I can be less nervous, and less scared for this move. See now I know God has the right friends, the right job, the right church, the right housing location, the right classes, and the right roommates for me all picked out for a purpose. And I know that my God would never tell me to take a step in a direction that he did not trust for me to make it through. God believes in me, even if I don't. This gives me confidence. Confidence that the Christ in me will still shine no matter where my home resides, where I work, where I attend church, etc..[you get the point..lol]
And this could easily be a testimony for others. Especially if you're going through any type of change, remember that God works out all for the good. Remember that God has things set up for you to succeed. And he believe's in you, even if you or the world doesn't.

Love you all,
