Things I Love Thursday

TILT is a weekly blog about the things in my week that I love, usually something that made me laugh or smile.

+So this week I was able to have fun with the Batter Blaster pancake mix I bought. Last friday I made myself a homemade brown sugar syrup sauce. Then I sliced apples and threw them into a pan. I then added the brown sugar sauce and let the syrup soak into the apples. Once those were nice and warm I set them aside to work on the pancakes. I then put some of the apples and sauce on top of the pancake batter, then put more batter on top. Once the pancakes were finished cooking I poured the extra apples and brown sugar sauce onto the pancakes. Oh my, they were some amazing pancakes!
+Then, yesterday I made blueberry pancakes. While those were in the pan, I took some blackberries, raspberries and brown sugar and put them in a container to heat up in the microwave. I then mashed the berries up and used it for the syrup on the blueberry pancakes! Nom, nom, nom!

+Homemade mac and cheese, using plain yogurt, not vanilla. Yes, I did make that one time mistake. Haha.

+This past weekend my internet stopped working. Apparently the router wasn't working, but our modem was fine. So I had to go out and purchase a new router. I was dreading this because I figured the set up was going to be a pain! Though to my surprise and excitement, it was probably the simplest, technology related, thing I have ever set up! Literally all I had to do was plug it in. Yay!
Then I got to play with it and set up a fun name.
+Also fun: The generic name given for the Internet was "LoudFlamingo," LOL. Who thinks of these?
I decided to rename it, "ClickThisOne!" I figured if a guest comes over and needs to use the internet that it would make things simpler. Haha. So what do you think? Do you like it, or did you like the Loud Flamingo one better?

+Watching Mystery Guitar Man, a semi famous youtuber, propose to his girlfriend in a pretty epic way! I hope my future husband puts at least a third of this much effort in the proposal for me!

+Uhm, The weather the last few days! No humidity! Thank you God!

+Using Aloe Vera as my hair gel. Getting the same results as if scrunching my hair with hair gel. Minus the crunchy/sticky feeling. Win.

+Working the AM shift at work last Sunday. I was able to attend Discovery church that night instead of watching the podcast of it mid-week. [Not that I don't LOVE that I can download the podcast for free if I miss a service!!] Though worship is not included in the podcast. Plus there's nothing like a live worship band. Yay!

+Last Sunday a fellow coworker explained football to me. It's a great feeling to gain knowledge, even if it is something as simple as football!

+Airport Crap - The Oatmeal. < I find this hilarious because these are the customers I have at work!
+This is how I feel about buying apps - The Oatmeal.  The cat gets one? This has got to be Scout in this comic!

+Receiving snail mail. A letter that is five pages [front and back] long! There's nothing better then getting a letter in the mail, especially one hand written! And especially one from a childhood friend whom you have not spoken to, communicated a real conversation with, or seen in years! [When I moved from Cali we decided to keep up writing to each other as a way to communicate. For the last few years I've been lacking on the sending mail back part. Finally I was able to find time to write here in Orlando. Yay! I love that we're writing again!]

+My roommates.
Although the internet was out for a few days, it gave us the opportunity to mingle more since only one of us was able to use the internet in the living room at a time. We ended up just studying together a few times. It's nice. =]

+My lighting class. I was able to actually "practice" hanging lights today. Climbing a fifteen foot [maybe twenty, I forget...] ladder and using my new wrench to correctly and safely secure the light. Haha. Which kind of made me laugh cause it really should not have been considered "practice" for me. Though it was nice to be back into it! I haven't dealt with lighting since I moved to Orlando.

Ok, I kind of feel like I rambled a tiny bit.
[Ok, maybe kind of a lot.] I still hope you enjoyed it!
I am extremely thankful for you reading my blog, assuming you made it this far through the rambles.
Have a wonderful Thursday! Remember to stay positive friends!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

If you're up for it, start your own "Things I Love Thursday" on a blog. It's a great way to look on the bright side of your life. Even if you start your own personal blog or hand written journal for yourself. Reflecting on the positive things in life has a way of helping you stay positive.

Things I Love Thursday

Thursday has arrived, yay!
For those of you who are unaware of what TILT [Things I Love Thursday] is... It's a list of things I love that have happened this week, or maybe it's something interesting I found that I want to share with you. Focusing on the good things in life a great way to stay positive.

+Hearing new songs on the radio from your favorite music artist.
+Granola. It goes to well with cereal, yogurt, and ice cream/frozen yogurt. Plus it makes a nice snack by itself.
+Having Labor Day off and getting to catch up on much needed sleep.
+Finally trying out Batter Blaster Pancakes! It's even USDA approved Organic!
+Adding Nesquik to cereal because I am a chocoholic. Yum! [Goes amazing with Honey Bunches of Oats!]
+This new acne wash I've been using from clean and clear. Deep-action Exfoliating-scrub. It literally feels like there is ice covering your skin while you wash your face. I feel like it is actually cleaning my skin. I love it.
+Mango Bars! [Made like lemon bars, but with Mango!] So delicious!
+Going to a work meeting. Though the "meeting" was more like a pep rally. I almost felt like I was back in high school. Then I remembered I rarley sat with my class during pep rallies cause I was with the band. Haha. [Does that make me kind of a nerd? I mean, I was actually there for Color Guard, not playing an instrument, except freshman year. I played Clarinet.]
+My fellow employees, including managers. They all pretty much rock. <3Hyatt.
+Reading the book for my lighting class and understanding the terms in it. Going to class and hearing that a lot of people did not read with the same ease. [It's not that I love them not understanding it. It's just that I love that I did!]
+Knowing my schedule is balanced. I have enough time for school, homework, and work. Keeping up to date on my youtube, hulu, and blog subscriptions, plus the Discovery Church Podcast's for the Status services I've missed cause of work. Not to mention keeping my home clean, and getting enough sleep/relax time. I love balance.
+My birthday is less than three months away!

Alrighty friends... Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you have a fantabulous fabtastic week! haha
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Ello Friends,

It is Thursday again!
Lets get this started...

Ballerina Project.
If you know anything about me, you will understand why I love this!
If you don't know anything about me, well... now you do. Dance is important to me, I love every aspect of the art, and the fact that a city has a project featuring dance within the city is just, well beautiful to say the least.

A coworker and I were discussing religion and such, and he made the joke that he is apart of Jews for Jesus. I know, it is silly. Though this made my laugh for probably five minutes straight. I love good jokes.

Although I have yet to actually use this feature in Orlando, I love that I know it is available if I need it.
Grub Taxi. Grub Taxi is a place you go online or call to have food delivered from restaurants that do not have delivery. Talk about a genius idea! No more delivery options of just pizza and Chinese!

A white dress. Today I found a very beautiful white dress at khols for very inexpensive. I have been wanting a casual yet somewhat dressy white dress for some time now. I am super excited, though I am not sure where I will wear this dress. Possibly school?

Speaking of school!!! Today I got my student ID and my books. One book in particular: Stage Lighting! School is just seventeen days away! Woot!

Facial's. Today I got to hang out with one of my new Orlando friends, yay! Something she is very talented in is giving facials. She took a course during high school that taught her all she needed to know, so tonight I received my first facial. It was great!

Nutella Crapes. Tonight me and my new Orlando friend went to IHOP for dinner. I got crapes, which came as an option to have nutella with them! Yum! For those of you who know nothing about Nutella, here.

Snickers. Many times candy companies put codes on the inside of the wrapper's in order to win cool prizes or enter contests. Though Snickers is changing it up a bit. I am so proud of what they're doing! There's a code on the inside of the wrapper that you can either enter online, or text the code to the number given. Instead of you winning something, you're donating a meal to someone in need through "Feeding America." How awesome is that! Go Snickers!

Uhm... Tomorrow I am trying out a florida east coast beach. I am extremely excited to get some sun! Not only cause I get to hang out with a fun coworked, but also to even out the tan on my right arm, plus get rid of my watch tan mark on my left wrist. Haha.

Alrighty, well good night everyone. Have a pleasant and blessed Friday/weekend.
Till next time...
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Or TILT as I like to refer it to. I know, It's actually actually Friday right now. Though I worked a double shift today at work and was unable to make it home in time to write this blog on time. My apologies.

Alrighty, my first thing is something that I have been forgetting to write about on TILT for weeks! I recently found out about a new feature to Disney. I have never been so excited for something Disney related.
I will give you a link, please watch it. Disney World of Color. This new feature is added to Disney Land in California. It's a show with water fountains, music, video projections of Disney clips, and.... *drum rolll please* LIGHTS!!! Ahhhh!!! You have no idea how bad I would not only LOVE to go see this show, but also one day work with it. Talk about an epic job. Just sayin'.

I start school in three and a half weeks, and I looked up my book prices online and found out they're super inexpensive. Which is kind of nice since I'm used to paying about one hundred dollars per book, now my most expensive book was $49, and my least expensive one was $6. Woot!

Speaking of school. Valencia is hosting a poetry/writing/art/photography contest. I entered a photo, and I plan on entering a poem. Although I have been having a tough time figuring out which poem to enter, even though I can enter multiple, I believe that if my writings are good I only need one to win. Maybe anyway.

At work we server desserts on a dessert cart. Some of them are in mason jars. A carrot cake in a mini mason jar, and a lemon meringue pie in a mason jar. I though that was quite creative of them, and wanted to share. I would love to take that idea if I ever hosted a party and felt like making fancy stuff for it. So if you'd like to take that idea too, you can. Here's a sample photo of what I'm referring to: Mason Jar Dessert. You can also use other things like wine or cocktail drink glasses with the same idea.

The weather this week has been much more bearable outside. Actually, it has been quite lovely, almost enough to make me want to take a walk around the neighborhood. Well, if I felt completely safe by myself of course, hypothetically. haha.

Sun Pass, and being able to easily drive through a toll area without having to wait in a terribly long line. Also, finding out that the tolls roads make my trip from work only twenty minutes, max. Rather than forty minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.

Working a ton, cause I need the hours. Yay!

Wednesday was the Orlando International Airport Hyatt's 18th Birthday! It was wonderful cause they were serving New York Strip Steak in the cafeteria. It made my week!

Hearing a song and being inspired to write a blog. You can look forward to that one, it will have something to do with Beauty.

Monday I made homemade macaroni and cheese. It was pretty great. Though I do have to mention that the recipe called for plain yogurt, and I only had vanilla. Note to self: never substitute this ever again. Haha.

Olive Garden's soup, salad, and bread stick lunch deal. So smart, and so yummy!

There's this frozen yogurt place I tried this last Monday called iKiwi, located in the UCF area. It's like a frozen yogurt buffet. You get your own frozen yogurt, add as much or as little toppings as you would like, then they weigh it to see how much it cost. If you're ever in the area, try iKiwi!

Friends. Old Friends, Best Friends, New Friends, Work Friends. I love them all.

Alright, I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend in general.
Thank you for reading my blog. I appreciate it tons and tons!
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie

Things I Love Thursday

Welcome back! I hope everyone's week went wonderful! Cause mine did!

One. Thunder Storms. One is currently happening, and it's the most peaceful sound to me.

Two. Sleep. Last night I slept for thirteen hours! Plus I've been resting and taking naps today. It's my day off and my choice of possible things I can do is sleep.

Three. Having a peace about living out what God has for you. When you walk through the doors he opens and notice every detail of why He had opened that door.

Four. Hyatt. Yes, this is where I currently work; I will not be surprised if I talk about this place a lot now. Yesterday I  had Orientation, and today I was reading through my leather bound binder I received during Orientation. I found two pages full of where I would now receive discounts, and just learning more about the place I work. By the way, there are over thirty different things I receive discounts for. Hyatt is definitely a recommended place to work.

Five. Getting mail. Specifically I got a card in the mail welcoming me to the Hyatt. The card was even personally signed by the people working in Human Resources. How sweet.

Six. Finding out that people I know blog.

Seven. Using purple as my font color, because purple is one of my favorite colors.

Eight. Seeing and talking to a few famous people.

Nine. I get my first pay check tomorrow.

Ten. Having friends visit me in my new apartment.

Eleven. Seeing Eclipse at the 12:16am showing.

Twelve. Finding a cute shirt on a great sale, and loving the way wearing it makes me feel good.

Thirteen. I get off work at five on Saturday. Which means I will be able to attend church at six pm. Yay!

Fourteen. Busting the "good things happen to bad people" myth.

Fifteen. Receiving a free light bulb at Orientation the day after my living room light went out. Haha.

Sixteen. Cracker Barrel's Momma's French Toast with Blackberry Preserves, two over-easy eggs, and turkey sausage. Not only was this meal absolutely amazing from the food, but I was also able to spend time with two longtime wonderful friends whom I haven't seen in awhile.

Thanks for reading my blog, sorry that most of it had to do with work. Though I love my job, what can I say. Till next time. Have a fantabulous Fourth of July weekend. God Bless.
Love you all,
KatrinaMarie
